These gazebos are made from Douglas Fir.
The main frames of our gazebos are held together with traditional mortise and tenon joints and Dowels.
The common, or intermediary rafters are held with stainless steel screws
With our gazebo kits, all the woodwork is already done, so for example on a 4x4m gazebo, a couple of builders can
construct the frame in around one and a half days, and the same again to roof it.
Most clients find a gazebo does not need planning and is allowed under the "permitted development" guidelines.
Always check with your local council first. Listed buildings tend to be a lot stricter.
Douglas fir is more than just a good-looking wood. Its durability and resistance to rot and insects makes it a favourite choice for outdoor projects like porch decking as well. ... It's also naturally resistant to rot, decay, and insects.
Douglas Fir is the strongest of our homegrown timber. It's nearly as tough as nails! It can cope with heavy duty framing, groundworks, cladding and landscaping used primarily as a framing lumber in residential construction. It can also be used in boat building and outdoor construction. Its natural ability to maintain its dimensions makes it ideal for use in harsh environments.
